We bring some different GPS modules here in Adafruit's store, but none that fulfilled our every wish - That's why we designed this little GPS unlock board. We believe this is the Ultimate GPS module, so we named it that. It's got everything you want and more: -sensitivity 165 dBm, 10Hz updates, 66 channels 5V design and only 20mA current draw Breadboard friendly + two mounting holes RTC battery-compatible Built-in datalogging Output PPS on fix Internal antenna patch + u.FL connector for external active antenna Difficulty LED status ... all for less than $40! The breakout is built around the MTK3339 chipset, a no-nonsense, high quality GPS module that can detect up to 22 satellites over 66 channels, has an excellent high sensitivity receiver (dB-165 tracking!) and a built-in antenna. It can do up to 10 position updates one second for detection, high sensitivity or high speed recording. Power usage is incredibly low, only 20mA when navigating. Best of all, we've added all the extra goodies you could want: an ultra-low dropout 3.3v regulator, so you can power it with 3.3-5VDC a, 5V level security inputs, enable pins so you can disable the module using any microcontroller pin or switch, a footprint for optional CR1220 coin cell to keep the RTC running and allow the hot hot boot hot hot and a Small Bright Red LED The LED flashes at about 1Hz while searching for satellites and flashes once every 15 seconds when an energy saving fix is found. If you want to have an LED on all the time, we also provide the correction signal out on a pin so you can put an external LED. Two features that really stand out on the MTK3339-based module version 3 is the external antenna functionality and the built-in data logging capability. The
